Our Practice Areas

First-Party Property Insurance Claims
First-Party Property Insurance Claims
Property owners who suffered property damage and need help enforcing the terms of their insurance policy. This includes homeowners, condominium unit owners, condominium and homeowners’ associations, and commercial property owners with losses from hurricanes, wind, water, fire, flood, and other covered events. Clients typically contact us after an insurer denies coverage, delays adjustment, underpays the claim, or disputes scope and pricing.

Construction Defect Claims
Construction Defect Claims
Owners of homes, condominiums, and commercial buildings dealing with construction defects that cause ongoing performance issues or property damage. Common signs include recurring leaks, cracking, staining, drainage problems, interior damage, mold concerns, and repeat “repairs” that fail to address the underlying defect.

From 2017 through 2025, Mr. Smith practiced at a multi-state plaintiff litigation firm handling property-damage and construction-defect matters from intake through resolution. Before practicing law, he worked as a project manager in commercial construction, overseeing large-scale remodeling projects throughout the Southeastern United States—experience that informs disputes involving scope, sequencing, pricing, and causation.
